About Bar Vin

Bar Vin is owned by Clint and Beth Osler, who also run Edelweiss Winery just up the road.

Edelweiss makes the wine. Bar Vin is where the rest of the world’s wine gets a hearing, alongside spirits and a list that changes whenever something better turns up.

The chandelier

The first thing most people ask about is hanging over the bar. It is a Turkish mosaic piece, a cluster of hand-set glass globes in crimson, cobalt, emerald, amber and magenta, and once the light drops it throws colour across the whole room.

It is the reason photographs of this place all look like they were taken somewhere further away than Missouri.

Hermann

Hermann has been a wine town since German settlers planted these hills in the 1830s, and it never really stopped. Bar Vin sits in the middle of that, pouring the local bottles and everything else.
